An electronic cigarette is made up of two components. These components include the lithium ion battery and a disposable atomizer cartridge. The main part of the electronic cigarette is the lithium ion battery. In some e-cigarettes, this battery can be below or above 4.2 volts. The battery also comes with a computer chip whose function is to manage the operations of the atomizer cartridge, which is usually attached and can be disposed after its prime. The battery also comes with an LED (light emitting diode) indicator light whose function is to signal the operation mode of the electronic cigarette. When you vape , the LED will show a red or any color to indicate the process you have subjected the e-cigarette to.

The battery output voltage in an electronic cigarette can start from 3.3 volts to 4.2 volts. This will mostly depend upon the battery charge and the type of e-cigarette. The battery can also come in different lengths depending on the size of the e-cigarette. It is highly recommended that vapers should buy an electronic cigarette with a longer battery because a longer battery signifies life between battery recharges. Electronic cigarette batteries are available in manual and automatic switch varieties and all these varieties have their own differences.

Basically, an automatic battery can be activated as a person draws some air through their e-cigarette. When puffing the e-cigarette, a switch will be triggered due to the internal pressure created and the atomization process will be activated. The few puffs a person will be making will increase the temperature on the atomizer causing the production of optimal vapor on subsequent puffs. With a manual battery, a user must continuously press and hold down the button throughout their vaping process. The thickness of the vapor will be regulated when using the button. To get optimal vapor, this will be accomplished through pressing the button several seconds before vaping.
